of the
Council of Geographic Names Authorities
The Council of Geographic Names Authorities annual conference was held April 28 – May 2, 2015, in Anchorage, Alaska at the Captain Cook Hotel. Papers and panel discussions explored a full range of toponymic topics including name standardization policies at the Federal, State, Tribal, and local levels of government, and conflict discussion regarding naming procedures.
The conference provided participants a unique opportunity to share information, knowledge, and to benefit from the expertise of members and staff of the U.S. Board on Geographic Names, State Geographic Names Authorities, Tribal authorities, other State and Federal mapping agencies, and members of the geospatial and academic communities.
